As a young child, I was always infatuated with cooking in the kitchen. I was always known to my grandmothers as the “professional taste tester”. While the other grand children were outside jumping rope, I would be in the kitchen watching each of them cook. The first thing my grandmother taught me to cook were tea cakes which later turned into homemade biscuits. I have a very close-knit family and I would orchestrate Sunday dinners at my mother’s house. I never liked “potlucks” which lead to whispers of “who cooked this?”. To alleviate the chatter, I would later start to help my mother cook the large meals for the holidays.
As I got older and became a mother and a wife, I enjoyed cooking for my husband and children. I have always been a person of perception, so the food served always had to have presentation…. My motto has always been “presentation is EVERYTHING. Ten years ago I started working on a gourmet turkey burger recipe which lead me to opening Terri’s Café….”Home of the Crack Burger”.
